Prof. Dr. Atay Atabey retired from the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Dokuz Eylül University. Since then, he has been practicing both at his private office and at Izmir Tınaztepe University Faculty of Medicine. His private practice, Estetia Aesthetic Surgery, has been in operation since 2004.
